About the Journal

Journal of Qualitative Research (JQR) is a peer-reviewed, open-access academic journal published by Nohan Institute. The journal is dedicated to advancing knowledge and practice in the field of qualitative research across disciplines, including education, social sciences, humanities, and health. JQR provides a platform for researchers, academics, and practitioners to explore human experiences, social phenomena, and cultural contexts through diverse qualitative approaches.

JQR welcomes original empirical studies, theoretical and methodological papers, literature reviews, and case studies that employ or discuss qualitative research methods such as phenomenology, ethnography, case study, narrative inquiry, grounded theory, and discourse analysis. The journal particularly values submissions that contribute to methodological innovation, deepen theoretical understanding, and enhance the application of qualitative research in real-world contexts.

Committed to academic rigor and ethical integrity, JQR employs a double-blind peer-review process, ensuring that all manuscripts are thoroughly evaluated by experts in the field. Submissions must be original works that have not been previously published or are under consideration elsewhere.

The journal accepts manuscripts written in English or Indonesian to encourage broader scholarly participation and global knowledge exchange.

JQR adopts an open-access policy under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 (CC BY-SA 4.0) license, ensuring that its content is freely available to readers worldwide. This policy supports the dissemination of qualitative insights and encourages scholarly collaboration without barriers.

Journal of Qualitative Research (JQR) is published twice a year, in April and October. Through its commitment to methodological excellence, ethical scholarship, and global accessibility, JQR strives to be a leading reference for researchers and practitioners engaged in qualitative inquiry and interpretation.
