FOCUS

Journal of Learning, Media, and Technology (JLMT) centers on advancing the integration of learning, media, and educational technology in both theory and practice. The journal emphasizes research that:

  • Innovates instructional design and learning environments.

  • Explores the use and impact of technological tools and media in education.

  • Investigates the interaction between learning theories and media/technology applications.

  • Promotes transformative pedagogies enabled by digital or media interventions.

JLMT aims to facilitate scholarly dialogue among researchers, educators, instructional designers, and technologists to bridge theory with classroom practice in diverse educational contexts, both locally and globally.

SCOPE

The scope of JLMT includes, but is not limited to, the following topics:

Teaching and Learning Models

Focuses on innovative instructional approaches to enhance student engagement, motivation, and achievement. Topics include inquiry-based learning, collaborative learning, project-based and problem-based learning, blended learning designs, and the integration of media and technology for effective learning experiences.

Curriculum and Instructional Development

Covers the design and implementation of curricula that align with 21st-century skills and digital competencies. Includes curriculum innovation, integration of local wisdom or cultural knowledge, competency-based learning, thematic learning, and strategies for culturally responsive teaching.

Technology-Enhanced Learning

Examines the use of digital tools and media to transform teaching and learning. Topics include e-learning platforms, mobile learning, virtual/augmented reality, gamification, flipped classrooms, STEM education approaches, and fostering digital literacy and computational thinking among learners.

Teacher Professional Development and Pedagogical Competency

Explores factors influencing teacher effectiveness, including professional development models, pedagogical skill enhancement, emotional intelligence, instructional leadership, teacher self-efficacy, and workload management.

Educational Assessment and Evaluation

Discusses assessment methods and evaluation strategies to measure student learning, program outcomes, and instructional effectiveness. Includes performance-based assessment, subject-specific instruments, HOTS-oriented evaluations, and frameworks like the Kirkpatrick model.

Media Integration and Learning Resources

Focuses on effective use of media and technological resources to enhance learning. Includes instructional media design, interactive learning tools, digital storytelling, and educational content development for diverse learning environments.

Educational Psychology and Learning Behavior

Covers psychological and behavioral factors that affect learning, including motivation, cognitive styles, self-regulated learning, guidance and counseling, and the impact of learning environments on academic performance and student well-being.

Inclusive and Special Education

Examines teaching strategies and resources for learners with diverse needs. Topics include adaptive learning materials, differentiated instruction, inclusive classroom practices, and evaluating the effectiveness of inclusive education policies and programs.

Leadership and Policy in Education

Explores educational leadership, governance, and policy implementation. Topics include school leadership, curriculum reform, strategic management, technology policy in education, and innovative policies that support educational transformation and sustainability.
